Payments, VAT invoicing and host payouts on SparkHour, explained for both sides of a booking.
SparkHour processes every booking through Stripe Connect, generates VAT/TRN-compliant invoices automatically, and protects both sides with dispute-pause-payout coverage — payment only completes once a booking is confirmed.
For guests
- Pay securely at booking — no back-and-forth with the host over payment
- Every booking generates a VAT-compliant invoice automatically (TRN 105467813900001), useful if you are booking for a business or production
- Opening a dispute pauses the payout to the host until it is resolved
For hosts
- SparkHour takes a 5% commission per completed booking, and listing is free
- Hosts set up with Stripe auto-pay are paid instantly when the booking is captured
- Hosts paid by bank transfer to an IBAN receive funds within 3 days
- VAT invoicing is generated automatically for every booking, so you are not issuing your own tax invoices per guest
- If a guest opens a dispute, payout pauses until it is resolved — protecting you from a false claim, and protecting guests from a payout completing before a real issue is addressed
